Data Visualisation -
The Illusion of Stock-Picking Skill

In this studio, we explored the art of Data Visualization, a discipline that transforms data insights into compelling stories for audiences. From print mediums to high-tech exhibition designs, and augmented or virtual reality, the core purpose remains the same—effective storytelling. We collaborated with RMIT’s Social Innovation Hub to visualize data on the topic of financial well-being.

"Many individual investors lose consistently by trading, an achievement that a dart-throwing chimp could not match."

- Daniel Kanheman (in his book 'Thinking Fast and Slow')

My project focused on ‘The Illusion of Stock-Picking Skill,’ delivering a set of three posters. A key takeaway was understanding how to merge data analysis with storytelling techniques. By structuring data into a cohesive narrative, I learned how to make complex information accessible and engaging, enhancing both the visual appeal and the audience's comprehension.
